The production planning process in the supply chain.

Part 2 of our textbook provides an overview of the processes involved in managing a sustainable supply chain operation. The layout of the facilities where employees and third-party vendors execute these processes and within which physical materials and inventory are stored must be carefully planned to ensure an effective operation and meet the supply chain's sustainability goals. The output of facilities planning becomes an input into the production planning process. A supply chain manager cannot plan a strategy for meeting consumer demand for its products without knowing the facility layout and capacity.
