The policies and practices in action to structure or control social order

All of the early empires that were discussed in this course were founded on societies with marked inequality and varied identities. Discuss the policies and practices that were put into action to structure or control social order (e.g., classes, gender relations, slavery) in at least two of the following three early empires: Qin/Han, Aztec, Inka. What kinds of justifications were brought to bear to legitimize those kinds of order and the elites’ positions of extreme privilege?
