The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is the comprehensive health care reform law enacted in March 2010.
The reform act aims 1) to make affordable health insurance available to more people by providing consumers with subsidies that lower costs for households with incomes between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL), 2) to expand the Medicaid program to cover all adults, and 3) to support innovative medical care delivery methods designed to lower the costs of health care generally.

The ACA (Links to an external site.)was enacted by the United State Congress and signed into law by President Obama on March 23, 2010.
