Assignment 1:Draw on what you have studied on the module so far to explain the roles of the principal legal figures in a court: the lawyers and the judge.
Assignment 2: Watch Michael Sandel’s lecture in the Thinking page of Unit 3 and use any arguments in it that you believe relevant to discuss whether the court might have decided R v Dudley and Stephens 14 QBD 273 differently, had the sailors agreed to a lottery to select who among them they should kill and eat.

Assignment 3: Taking careful note of the elements of the offence of robbery and the videos in the Content page of Unit 9, detail from the perspective of (a) the prosecution and (b) the defence, what evidence you believe will be most persuasive in making your case to the jury.

Assignment 3: Summarise the first 10 minutes of Andrew Burrows’ 2017 Hamlyn Lecture (video available towards the bottom of Unit 12, Content page. Watch through to 16:00).
