What are the qualities that define a leader fit to govern? To support, you must incorporate all of the class texts, in addition to two other non-fictional works that you discover on your own. The paper must be 1500-1800 words in length, be MLA formatted, and demonstrate sophistication in both critical thinking and rhetorical practice. You may choose to focus on a particular aspect of governing--rhetorical skill, for example--or you may choose to focus on a different aspect of leading or governing. You have a lot of creative freedom in this assignment. Above all else, your paper must forward a single argument and it must incorporate all of the texts in a natural, fluid, and convincing way. Obviously, there will be an extended discussion of Lincoln as he relates to the claims you are making in your thesis.
