Ornament and Crime

Loos had very strongly held ideas regarding ornamentation mostly based on his disdain for Joseph Maria
Olbrich and the Vienna Secessionist movement. Using the excerpt from Ornament and Crime and the Olbrich
and Loos buildings we discussed in class, provide an analysis of his point of view. Is he convincing? Why or
why not? Are there any of his ideas that are particularly compelling and/or could actually be practical if/when
put into practice? (4 to 6-paragraph minimum)
