Welcome the new teacher and discuss the importance of becoming an early childhood professional who promotes healthy development and learning. Your role is to guide the new teacher in a complex field that naturally requires support, collegiality, and guidance from others.
Summarize why/how creating meaningful learning experiences and supportive environments can make a positive difference in young childrenââ¬â¢s development and learning. This is your opportunity to synthesize what you have learned this semester and set the stage for new teachers.
Explain how the teacher may see some discrepancies in what he or she learned in field work as best practice and what he or she is expected to do in the classroom. Offer suggestions for how to maintain best practice.
Explain the motivation behind helping children learn new ideas, process new concepts, and/or reach developmental milestones.
Provide tips for creating a welcoming physical environment, using resources to support your recommendations.
