Optimism is a mental attitude that has a significant impact on one's ability to manage daily social and occupational demands as well as one's physical and mental health (Ciro et al., 2010). The main agenda of the study is to assess the individual differences in generalized optimism versus pessimism.

The study will involve 30 participants. The data will be collected through the questionnaire where the participant will be required to record their feelings based on the life orientation test- reviewed. The questionnaires will be printed and distributed to 30 doctors where 50% will be male and 50% will be female.

The participants will be asked to record their gender as well as age. The participants are required to be truthful and accurate as they can. In addition, they will be required to avoid letting one statement's reaction affect how they respond to other ones. They will be required to answer the questionnaire based on their feelings since there are no correct or incorrect answers.

The research was conducted by Ciro (2010) on optimism and its effects on physical and mental well-being. According to Ciro (2010), there is a positive correlation between optimism and coping strategies that emphasize social support and the positive consequences of stressful situations. According to the findings of this study, pessimists have less optimism for the future than optimists and are more prone to depression and anxiety disorders, which affect social functioning and quality of life (Ciro, et al, 2010).

Furthermore, an inverse correlation between dispositional optimism and life satisfaction on the one hand, and depressive symptoms appearing after a cardiovascular event on the other, has been found when the role of optimism in enhancing quality of life has also been studied in depressive disorders developing in patients with somatic pathologies (Ciro et al., 2010).
