Historical event in aviation

Choose 1 major historical event in aviation that had significant
impacts to how the current world views and uses aviation. The topics can be anything from the
text and must be submitted NO LATER THAN week 2.
Students will write an essay on their chosen topic, using the textbook and appropriate outside
sources which must be cited.
Your Essay is due NLT day 4 of the last week. Submit the Essay in .doc or .docx on the
appropriate assignment link in Blackboard.
Specific Requirements:
The evaluative essay will consider assigned sources on the chosen theme, and evaluate those
sources using the topic prompt provided in the additional documents for this assignment.
Format, Length and Organization:
o Length: 750-1100 words (roughly 3-4 pages, double spaced – not counting footnotes)
o Double spaced text, Times New Roman, size 12 font, standard margins and indentation
(see MLA writing guides)
o The paper should have a title page, body, and bibliography page
o Using MLA writing guides format the bibliography correctly and include inline citied
sources.
o Basic Organization The paper will consist of an introduction, body and conclusion:
o Introduction should be one paragraph and should introduce the main topic of
choice, ending with a strong thesis statement. The thesis statement is the ONE
SENTENCE argument.
o Body of the paper is a few paragraphs (3-4) developing and supporting the topic,
showing comparison and contrast of alternate sources and research. The body of
the paper should provide specific examples and details on how your topic affected
aviation.
o Conclusion is the final paragraph, restating the argument and summarizing the
main points of the paper, drawing conclusions for the reader. No new information.
