Second, after you've listened share your reaction. Were you aware of the existence of "shadow profiles" prior
to watching this video? Share your perspective on the privacy of your information on social media platforms -
generally, are you concerned or not?
Third, consider that Facebook is one of many social media platforms that use the same methods of data
collection about you. Tik Tok, a platform that tracks similar information to Facebook, has recently received
attention because it is owned by a non-American company. Are your reactions to a domestic (i.e., American)
company having this information about you the same as a foreign entity (e.g., China in the case of Tik Tok)
having this information about you? Consider sharing your feelings on the limits, contexts, and conditions under
which you feel your privacy is more or less of a concern for you. Incorporate last week's lectures and readings
and connect your reactions to what you have learned in the course thus far.
