In my perspective, my cultural awareness signifies that I am aware of a few aspects of various
cultures. As a result of my father's military service, I grew up in a multicultural atmosphere and
am aware of how few things work. However, I make every effort to converse with people from
various cultures in order to understand more about them and to share my cultural perspectives
with them. Furthermore, because I did not study my culture in the mosque, I do not have a
complete grasp of it. My family was frequently on the go because of my father's job. As a result,
I'd like to gain a better understanding of my own culture. I have the sensation that I only know
half of what there is to know. Every culture has its own way of thinking, but there are always
changes depending on the location and history of the community.
According to what my mother has informed me, there are variations in my own culture. My
birthplace and current residence are two unique areas, both of which have altered because of
changes in people's thinking and language. In addition, because of my military upbringing, I'd
like to understand more about other cultures. It will help me become more acquainted with my
surroundings, which is critical if you are from India and have a military background.

Task 2: Hofstede’s Cultural Comparison
Canada Comparison Country:
[indicate the country here]
Power Distance 37 77
Individualism 80 48
Masculinity 52 56
Uncertainty Avoidance 48 40
Long-Term Orientation 36 51
Indulgence 68 26
In comparison between Canada and India, there seem to be considerable disparities. To begin
with, India's power gap is far too wide, which is unfavorable. Canada, in my opinion, is in good
health, with no disparities between citizens and authorities. This proves that the positions of all
members are equal. They interact and obtain information by relying on one another. Second,
there is a substantial difference between the two countries in terms of individualism.
Individualist societies prevail in Canada, but collectivist cultures prevail in India. Canadians
have well-known personalities. Indians, on the other hand, live in communities and are known by
their identities in society. Finally, with only minor differences, manhood appears to be at the
same stage in both countries. The Canadian people believe in always winning and coming out on
top. On the other side, Indians are liberals who are concerned about community and standard of
living.
Finally, there is a distinction to be made between conflict-avoidance and individualism. People in
Canada are constantly willing to try new things and learn new things. In India, on the other hand,
new things are viewed with suspicion. They believe that in the future, it will be unsuitable for
them. Fifth, India has a strong long-term planning culture. People try to save for the future and
work to meet future demands, but Canadians are more concerned with the now and have built
what they have. They are just concerned with what they have now and are indifferent about what
will happen in the future. It looks that saving the present is more vital than thinking about the
future. In addition, indulgence has a big impact. Canadians have control over their desires. They
don't save money; instead, they spend it on things they want. On the other hand, the Indians are
the opposite. They say they have money and spend it on necessities.

Task 3: GRPI Assessment and Reflection
Question 1: “Goals”
My group meets the requirements of a team. Goals and priorities were decided over the phone.
We all decided on the tasks to be completed and who would be in charge of them. Everyone
agreed to work together and help each other if anyone had any problems with the given task. We
also give team members the liberty to make changes to other people's work as they see
appropriate.
In my opinion, everyone on my team was working together to attain a common goal. We intend
to achieve the highest possible grade on the project and to contribute our knowledge towards
the work. Even though our objectives were diverse, we met all the internal deadlines for group
work and effectively completed the project. My team members were so collaborative that we
always completed our tasks on time and with good grades, satisfying all the requirements.
Therefore, as our goals were common, we achieved good grades in our previous assignments.
Question 2: “Roles”
We didn't assign any formal leadership duties to any of the team members. We agreed to
collaborate as a team. We didn't need a leader at the time, in my opinion, because we all agreed
to split the workload evenly. We choose to disperse the task over the phone so that everyone may
choose what they enjoy and what fits their expertise and interests.
I do not believe we need a leader if everyone works together. As a result, the team was left
without a leader. In addition, I do not feel that my team's leader arises informally. We had made
all our decisions as a group, which was a strength of our team. We never felt the need for
someone to keep an update on the progress of work or guide us because my team was very
cooperative and completed work on time without any delays. If adjustments were needed, we
used to take each other's ideas and appreciate everyone's work.
Question 3: “Processes”
Everything seems to be in working order. Everything about the task was fantastic. We had no
serious problems with teamwork. All decisions were taken with the members' majority support.
We were all on the same page with our decisions. In addition, we kept all the members updated
on our progress as we worked. All our decisions were taken at the start of the project. All the
team's deadlines are set.
My team, in my viewpoint, handled the disputes admirably. My team members were very
responsible and serious whenever we received tasks; we used to reschedule meetings because to

everyone's busy schedules, but we never complained on these issues because we all understood
one other. So, if you ask me if I could go back in time and alter anything, I will say no. Because
everything seemed to be going well at the time. We finished the job ahead of schedule and
submitted it on time.
Question 4: “Interpersonal Relationships”
Everything was shared among my team members. Even with certain personal topics, we were
able to establish a high level of trust. We also held one other in high regard and encouraged
everyone to speak up if they had any work-related concerns. All the tasks were performed with
the help of all the team members. We had shown each other the highest respect, as far as we
could discern. We were off to a good start at the time of the assignment.
When everyone gave their comments on the assignments, no one ignored anyone on the team
member; instead, everyone took the ideas seriously and encouraged everyone. When the
suggestions shared were not up to par, we would advise them on how to enhance the plan and
appreciate it. This gave my team members confidence and helped them create trust and
collaborate efficiently. As an outcome, we had a positive interpersonal relationship.

Task 4: De Bono’s Thinking Hats
Thinking Hat Colour Comment, Suggestion, or Question
Yellow I am confident that we can all solve this problem if we all work
together. Everyone is responsible for their professional life. As a
result, it's tough to maintain track of multiple things at once.
Green Don't worry, folks; there's still time to fix this. We may all
contribute to P's task and assist him in accomplishing it.
Red This group of people irritates me. All our parts have been
completed. P is expected to follow likewise as a result.
White It will have an effect on our grades on our assignments. I don't
want to fail this class. We dropped more points in the previous
one, so things will be different this time.
Black Hey, this isn't going well. We have a lot of other things to take care
of. It's possible, but we won't be able to finish this task.
