COVID-19

Write about pandemic that include key data points about COVID-19.
Include both qualitative data and quantitative data. Please also
respond to at least two of your classmates (by Wednesday) with
thoughtful follow-up questions or ideas on other data points to
share

The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the worst causes of death in the last decade. Although it is not the
principal responsible for millions of deaths every day, it has been considered the worst health condition
worldwide since the Spanish flu in 1918 but not the most deadly (Branswell,2021). In other words, we should
take care of our health. Still, we need to be realistic about causing humanity's destruction, such as pollution,
corruption, and non-equal opportunities globally.
Following this, I would like to share some quantitative and qualitative data about the COVID-19 disease.

Quantitative:
A study developed by the Daffodil International University in Bangladesh shows that the COVID-19 impacted
a dramatic change in mental health(Rahman, M, 2021):
◦ nearly 53% of people lost joy in life.
◦ closely 59% have seen a decrease in productivity
◦ 54% have a problem making decisions
◦ 92% of people use the internet every day.
This data was collected in Bangladesh city and conducted during lockdown due to the COVID-19.
Furthermore, for every student, classes changed, but what about students in medical training? Here is some
interesting data ( Harries, A.J. et al., 2021):
◦ Almost 75% of medical students lost their clinical rotation.
◦ Nearly 94% of the students stated that they did not have the chance to hold clinical rotations with
patients in person.
◦ Nearly 63% of the students felt that they were not ready for actual practice in their residency periods.
◦ Closely 30% think that universities are responsible for that lack of preparation.
